Olivenza, the town of Extremadura, is the best example of how a town of just 12,000 population has put its name on the map thanks to the fighting bull. Its Bullfighting Fair has become a social event, being the first media appointment on the calendar and where the main figures of bullfighting begin their season.

When is Olivenza Fair?

Olivenza Fair takes place in March, usually the first weekend of the month. It is the great annual event of the village. Tourists and fans from all over Spain, Portugal, Germany, France and Italy, mainly, fill up Olivenza to enjoy the atmosphere and the first level bullfights and the Iberian Bull Fair.

Ruedo de Olivenza is the company that manages the bullring, whose fair reaches its 30th anniversary this year with great bullfights shows to celebrate the occasion.

The Iberian Bull Fair takes place at the fairgrounds at the same time. Colloquiums, exhibitions, cattle handling,…All these events become the town in the capital of the bull and the economic impact of both fairs is vital for it.
