Gijón Shines for Begoña: A First-Class Bullfighting Event with La Quinta, Emilio de Justo, Clemente and Tomás Rufo
On Friday 15th August at 6:30 p.m., the Gijón bullring will open its gates for one of the most anticipated events of the summer: the traditional bullfight held during the Feria of Our Lady of Begoña. This celebration attracts thousands of locals and tourists every year, offering a festive atmosphere that is truly unique in northern Spain.
For this special occasion, bulls from La Quinta are scheduled to appear — one of the most prestigious breeding ranches in Spain, known for its Santa Coloma–Buendía bloodline. La Quinta is famed for the elegance, power and complexity of its bulls, which consistently deliver thrilling afternoons for experienced aficionados.
The line-up brings together three matadors who represent the present and future of bullfighting:
Emilio de Justo, a leading figure of modern toreo, admired for his bravery and classical style.
Clemente, the young French talent who has been winning over fans with his poise and refinement.
Tomás Rufo, one of the most exciting rising stars, returns to Gijón after making his mark at several major fairs across Spain.
Gijón, a vibrant city by the sea rich in culture and tradition, is once again a reference point for bullfighting in the north of Spain. The 15th of August promises an authentic and emotional afternoon of tauromachia at the height of the summer season.
