The Feria of Our Lady of Begoña comes to a grand close on Sunday, 17th August at 6:30 p.m., with a truly first-class line-up: bulls from Puerto de San Lorenzo and La Ventana del Puerto for José María Manzanares, Alejandro Talavante and Pablo Aguado. A top-tier trio promising an afternoon of elegance, inspiration and pure artistry in what is set to be Gijón’s most eagerly awaited bullfight of the summer.
Facing bulls from two of Spain’s most respected herds — Puerto de San Lorenzo and La Ventana del Puerto — the afternoon opens with José María Manzanares, a torero of natural elegance and proven consistency. With his refined style and command of the muleta, Manzanares is considered a pillar of modern bullfighting. His poise and innate rhythm guarantee beauty and grace in every faena.
He is followed by Alejandro Talavante, known for his unpredictability, creativity, and deeply personal style. Recently named “Best Bullfighter” of the 2025 San Isidro Fair, Talavante arrives in Gijón at a career high.
Closing the line-up is Pablo Aguado, a Sevillian matador admired for his classicism, finesse and exquisite taste — an artist whose every gesture breathes tradition and depth.
An afternoon that blends experience, youth and artistry, bringing the curtain down on a fair that has established Gijón as a leading bullfighting destination in northern Spain. On 17th August, excitement is guaranteed.
