The portable bullring at Grau de Gandía was erected for several years in the Port Square (Plaza del Puerto) to host the traditional bullfighting fair held each July in honor of the Virgin of Carmen. After a period of approximately 25 years without bullfighting events in the municipality, the fair returned from 2011 to 2014. Bullfighting events were also announced for 2015, but they were ultimately cancelled, and the portable bullring has not been erected since. Today, the portable bullring no longer exists, and no bullfighting events are held in Gandía.
