The bullring of Zaragoza has celebrated the Feria de San Jorge, this year paying tribute to Florentino Ballesteros.

La Misericordia celebrated its Spring Fair this weekend with the traditional Corrida Concurso on Saturday and the celebration on the 23rd, the day of the city's patron saint. This year's poster, designed by Joserra Lozano, paid tribute to Florentino Ballesteros, a local bullfighter who lost his life in the bullring one hundred years ago.

The contest was eagerly awaited, in which selected bulls from Partido de Resina, Cuadri, Alcurrucén, El Ventorrillo, Flor de Jara and Ana Romero were fought for the Murcian Rafaelillo, the Aragonese Alberto Álvarez and the Valencian Román. However, the different bulls did not give the game that was expected and the prize for the Bravest Bull was not awarded, as well as the prize for the best bullfighter. Rafaelillo and Alberto Álvarez did not have options with their lots, the latter even receiving a kick from the dangerous fifth, and Román did not take advantage of his own, where the last of the afternoon, Ana Romero's bull was staked.

Pedro Iturralde was in charge of stinging the sixth, for which he obtained the only trophy of the afternoon for the Best Picador, after three lunges of the bull to his horse and his corresponding well placed puyazos.
