Awarded by 'Clarín' program of RNE, the Golden Ear distinguishes the winner of the 2017 season

The master Enrique Ponce has returned to mark a historic milestone when he won his seventh 'Oreja de Oro' from Spanish National Radio, something that no other bullfighter has achieved.

The Valencian bullfighter had already achieved the prestigious award in the editions of 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997 and 2016. With this one he exceeded in one the 'Golden Ears' achieved by Juan Antonio Ruiz 'Espartaco', with whom he shared tehe record until now.

These awards have also distinguished the livestock of Victorino Martín, who has achieved the 'Iron of Gold', and the bullfighter Iván Fandiño, 'Oreja de Oro' special posthumously.

Ponce, who is fulfilling professional commitments in American lands, has valued very positively this award in statements to the Clarín program, directed by José Luis Carabias: "This 'Gold Ear' is the one that made me more excited because, after 28 active seasons, shows that I keep this desire for improvement intact, I believe that I am in the best moment of my life as a bullfighter, I only think about what lies ahead and I hope it is not the last one I win. I dedicate it to my partner Iván Fandiño and I thank all the fans".
