The thrill of bullfighting returns to Llerena. On Saturday 14 June, this charming town in Extremadura will host a special sin picadores festival in its historic bullring, bringing together local bullfighting stars and an up-and-coming young talent. Organised by the team of impresario Ignacio Ríos, the event aims to revitalise the cultural and taurine life of the town with a day for all ages.
Llerena is getting ready to celebrate a very special day for bullfighting on 14 June, with a sin picadores festival that highlights local talent and the deep-rooted passion of the region. The festival, put together by Ignacio Ríos, a well-known businessman from Aragón, features a lineup that reflects both tradition and excitement.
The matadors taking part are all deeply connected to the region: Tomás Campos, Tomás Angulo, and Jesús Díez "El Chorlo", who will be joined by novillero Manuel Domínguez from Mairena del Alcor (Seville). They will face bulls from the prestigious El Parralejo ranch, known for producing brave and high-quality animals that guarantee thrilling encounters in the ring.
Earlier that morning, the bullring will also host an engaging children’s activity titled “Let’s Play Bullfighting!”, a toreo de salón (mock bullfighting) workshop where the festival’s toreros will guide and play with the youngest fans. A fun and educational experience to introduce the next generation to the cultural world of bullfighting.
This event marks not only the return of bullfighting to Llerena, but also its firm step back onto the cultural map of Extremadura. A day of emotion, tradition, and community awaits – ideal for locals and visitors alike.
