Morante, Roca Rey and Aguado: the line-up of the year in Aranjuez

Aranjuez has unveiled one of the strongest line-ups of the bullfighting season in the Community of Madrid. The traditional San Fernando bullfight, scheduled for 31 May, will bring together three of today’s leading matadors in what promises to be one of the standout events of the year. The company Circuitos Taurinos has put together a top-tier bill, featuring bulls from Núñez del Cuvillo for Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey and Pablo Aguado. A combination that blends artistry, power and purity in a venue with deep historical significance within the bullfighting calendar.

The official presentation took place at midday at El Tomate restaurant in Aranjuez, hosted by journalist Javier Fernández Mardomingo. The event was attended by local authorities and key figures from the sector, including the Mayor of Aranjuez, Miguel Gómez, businessman Carlos Zúñiga and councillor Mercedes Rico.

During his speech, the mayor highlighted the importance of the line-up, describing it as one of the most outstanding of the season in the region. He also emphasised the emotional power of bullfighting and its ability to connect with audiences beyond technical understanding.

For his part, Carlos Zúñiga expressed his satisfaction at bringing together three top matadors in such a historic venue. He stressed the importance of promoting high-quality line-ups in emblematic settings, helping to shape the rhythm of the season.

The official poster has been designed by Pérez Indiano, a contemporary artist with a strong reputation in both bullfighting and religious art. His work adds a distinctive aesthetic dimension to the event, reinforcing its cultural significance.

The San Fernando bullfight thus maintains its status as one of the key dates in Madrid’s bullfighting calendar, combining tradition, leading figures and the unique setting of the historic Aranjuez bullring.
