Bullring La Chata. Albacete

The Albacete bullring was constructed on account of the growing penchant
for bullfighting in the city. It was built in record time, being completed in 1916. The work of Julio Carrilero and Manuel Saiz de Vicuña and the architects Rafael Arnaz y Miguel Ortiz, it was inaugurated on September 9th, 1916 with bulls from Fernando Villalón and featuring the matadors Gaona, Joselito el Gallo and Saleri II.

This ring is adorned with neo-Islamic details and pointed arches, being quite similar to the Madrid bullring, Las Ventas, for it served as a model for this ring. It has a capacity of 12.000 spectators

Who manages the Albacete bullring?

Since 2021 the bullring is managed by the UTE formed by Simón Casas, Manuel Amador and Gestión de Espectáculos Toledo. The contract with the City Council of Albacete allows them to organise bullfighting events until 2023.

what you should know before going to the bullring?
