Sunday, The 30th of August at 19:00 - Bullfighter on horseback in San Sebastián (Madrid).
One of the highlights of the Bullfighting Fair will be a top-class bullfight featuring bulls from the Juan Pedro Domecq and Álvaro Núñez ranches, to be fought by three true legends of bullfighting.
Morante de la Puebla will headline a highly appealing line-up thanks to his inspiration and artistic flair. He will be joined by Sebastián Castella, a leading figure in modern bullfighting thanks to his technique and dedication, whilst José María Manzanares will bring the elegance and classic style that have made him one of the most admired bullfighters of recent decades.
The quality of the announced bull ranches and the prestige of the three matadors suggest this will be one of the most well-attended afternoons of the entire festival.
What is a mixed bullfight?
The Fusion of Two Styles in the Same Arena. A mixed bullfight is a bullfighting spectacle that combines two forms of combat: bullfighting on horseback and bullfighting on foot. In this type of event, the lineup includes a rejoneador, who fights the bulls while mounted on horseback, and one or two matadors, who face the bulls on foot.
This format allows spectators to enjoy the spectacle of rejoneo, where the equestrian skill and coordination between rider and horse create a breathtaking display. At the same time, bullfighting on foot brings purity, technique, and emotion, as the matador faces the bull using the cape and muleta, demonstrating his artistry and courage.
